Reede-ing

*Groan* I feel disgusting! Today has been spent laying in bed, dozing off between episodes of Frasier (my all-time favorite show) and choking down 7-Up and Zesta saltines. Something is wrong with my stomach, but I don't know what! Though there was one thing that got me through my queasiness, the arrival of my Steve Madden "Reede" sandals (below).

Are they not fabulous? I first laid my eyes on these fabulousities while I was reading my "Sale Male" from Shop it to Me from InStyle. They send you a daily e-mail showing sale items in your size from brands and designers you choose. Those beauties were $69.97 at Endless, originally $99.95. No tax, no shipping charges.

A Sunday Smile

"Smile. Have you ever noticed how easily puppies make human friends? Yet all they do is wag their tails and fall over." - Walter Anderson.

Just when you think that everything is going badly, you find something that makes you smile. The other day I was opening a Word document, and I discover I have the stupid "Shankar" virus. I also noticed that my MacBook was overdue for about ten system updates which could of prevented the virus. Then, I find that I don't have any more room on my hard-drive for the system updates. So, I start clearing out files: Going through iPhoto, erasing movies my friends took of random things on my camera. Then, I came upon these pictures of my dog Winnie (above) the day we got her. I smiled, and things got better.

Smile today!

Omigod You Guys

About a year ago after my eighth grade trip to Washington D.C., my mom met me at the airport and we took an Amtrak up to New York for the weekend. We had breakfast with my Godmother, shopped (of course) and saw Legally Blonde The Musical. My mom originally gave me two choices: See Rufus Wainwright in concert, or see Legally Blonde The Musical. Well, my little eighth grade self (I know, it was only a year ago, still) obviously chose to see Legally Blonde The Musical

Needless to say, it was fabulous! A total chick-play, it was still fantastic, and very...blonde. As a blonde and a lover of musicals,I fell head over four-inch pink stilettos (which every female cast member had to train to dance in) for Legally Blonde The Musical. So you can imagine my utter obsession with MTV's Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search For Elle Woods.

Ten "Elle's" competed in challenges from belting "What You Want" (the feel-good anthem where Elle persuades Harvard she is what they want) while spinning on a bike (above, top) to dancing in high-heeled boots on the cobble-stoned streets of Brooklyn (above, below), until the darling Southern belle, Bailey Hanks (below, and isn't her dress darling?), was chosen to become Elle Woods on broadway for six months.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times the Legally Blonde: The Musical (Original Cast Recording) has been circulating on my iPod!

Now I Know My ABCs

I've been tagged by the darling Little Bow Prep! This is a perfect opportunity for my readers to get to know me a tad bit better than simply the nom de plume of Supercalifashionista!

A. Attached or single? I am single, but I picked out my future husband on the Ralph Lauren website (below)!

B. Best Friend? Too many to count! Actually, it was one of my best friend's birthday today. Her boyfriend and I woke her up this morning, plopping a pitifully-decorated cake (he decorated it, below) on her bed!

C. Cake or pie? I love cake! I've never been a pie person. Plus, pie doesn't have frosting, and I adore frosting. Ask my friends, they've caught me eating Pillsbury chocolate frosting with a spoon (reminiscent of that scene in John Tucker Must Die, right?). My friend's boyfriend actually had to stop me (above) from sticking my finger in the frosting of her birthday cake (above) on the way over to her house.

D. Day of choice? I love Wednesdays.

E. Essential item? My MacBook is my life. Safari, iChat, Mail, iTunes, DVD, iPhoto, PhotoBooth, take them away from me, and I'll go into a deep depression. I'm not even kidding.

F. Favorite color? Tiffany blue, canyon rose (actually the birthday color for January 8th), chocolate brown and mint green.

G. Gummy bears or worms? I like gummy worms, they're softer than gummy bears!

H. Home town? I was born in Omaha and I live in Omaha now.

I. Favorite indulgence? When I feel sorry for myself, I buy lipgloss from Sephora. Online or at the store, it's a bad habit. Sephora is actually my homepage when I open Safari, I should probably change that. My most recent indulgence? NARS lipgloss in Striptease (below).

J. January or July? Of course I love January! My birthday is in January!

K. Kids? I do not have any children, as much as I love Juno.

L. Life isn't complete without? Friends and shoes.

M. Marriage date? Well in this state, it's not really legal for a fifteen year-old to get married. But I would marry that Ralph Lauren model in a second!

N. Number of brothers and sisters? I'm an only child.

O. Oranges or apples? I really love apple, green apples, I love the color.

P. Phobias? I'm afraid of the dark!

Q. Quotes? "We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney.

R. Reasons to smile? I found my iPod, after a week of its absence.

S. Season of choice? I love the fall! So crisp, yet cozy. Plus, the fashion magazines are always the thickest at that time of year!

U. Unknown fact about me? I don't think I've ever mentioned my name. Well, my name is Anne!

V. Vegetable? I love tomatoes!

W. Worst habit? I always tap my nails.

X. X-ray or ultrasound? Well I've broken three bones and have had countess x-rays. So, I'm going to say X-rays.

Y. Your favorite food? I adore red velvet cupcakes from Cupcake Island, Omaha's own Magnolia.

Z. Zodiac sign? I am a Capricorn.

So, there you have it! A little more about Supercalifashionista!

Bling It On

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but I am a tennis player. I was on my high school's team last year (and plan to be next year), and during the summers I take a clinic at our club. But I have to be frank: The stylishly sporty clothes and accessories are part of the reason I love the sport! My favorite tennis staple?

My limited-edition Maria Sharapova racket bag (above). It's gold sheen and quilted black patent leather letters (which match my toenails, above) promote its utter fabulousity. And get this, I bought the one out of two available for retail in the state! That somehow made this purchase even more fabulous. The girls on my team started calling me "ghetto-fabulous" (whatever that means), and needless to say, I got a lot of looks from the teams we dueled, but a lot of compliments to match!

Dental Drama

Yes, this morning I had quite the dental dilemma. Let's just say their were seven shots of novacaine and a tooth drill involved. I will be spending the rest of the day in bed watching 27 Dresses and working on my American literature homework for school which starts in less than one month. *Sigh* Summer is coming to a close and I'm laying in bed with the left side of my face completely numb. Though I do have to say that school's inevitable start does bring about the excitement of shopping for a homecoming dress! Our homecoming dance is in October, but who said getting a head start on shopping was a bad thing?

I found two fabulous dresses (above) on ShopBop this morning, my antidote to tooth pain. On top is a darling little MARC by Marc Jacobs minidress with the most adorable bow on the racerback. On bottom is an exquisitely beaded Alice & Olivia frock that is just plain gorgeous. Both perfect homecoming dresses, and trust me, there will be more to come!

Which dress is your favorite?

Citizen Payne

Well, what started out as an extremely boring evening turned into a rather star-struck one! My parents dragged me to Feature 2008, a fundraiser in support of Film Streams featuring Omaha born and raised Oscar-winning director Alexander Payne and acclaimed actress Laura Dern. I originally thought spending an evening with my parents was going to be dreadful, but I turned out to be mistaken. About five minutes before the presentation, one of my mom's best friends who works for the Holland Center (where the benefit took place) yanked me backstage and introduced me (above, right) to Alexander Payne (above, left) and shoved me next to him for a rather blurry picture (above). Payne's various projects include Citizen Ruth, Election, About Schmidt, and Sideways. Knowing that a genius of film grew up here in Omaha really makes me feel as though I can achieve anything, no matter where I'm from.
