Unzipping On a Lazy Sunday

"Is there really anything better than a lazy Sunday?  Reading the paper in bed, sipping coffee, scrambling an egg or two.  Yeah, right. We Upper East Siders don't do lazy. Breakfast is brunch, and it comes with champagne, a dress code and a hundred of our closet friends...and enemies."

Yes, unlike the Gossip Girl gang in the Wild Brunch episode, I don't spend my Sundays downing mimosas with a hundred of my "closest friends...and enemies".  Instead, I spent this cozy Sunday in my favorite Anthropologie pajamas and an oversized Lux cardigan watching Unzipped

No, contrary to its title, Unzipped (above) is not a pornographic film! It actually is a documentary following the fabulous fashion designer, Isaac Mizrahi, in the 90's as he prepares for his show.  The film features appearances by fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell, André Leon Talley and Kate Moss.

I adore this movie!  It shows the metamorphosis of a simple sketch to the runway, and the quirky yet adorable style of the ever-fabulous Isaac Mizrahi - ten years ago that is!  The cameras were everywhere, from the sketching sessions to walking down the runway right along Cindy Crawford.

Coming up next on my Sunday movie marathon:  Seamless, another documentary by Doug Keeve (he also directed Unzipped), which follows the The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as they choose one aspiring designer to receive a $200,000 prize along with a mentorship with an industry executive.

I will definitely have to watch this.

And your post makes me want to turn up the a/c, pull my bedspread into the living room and pop on Breakfast at Tiffany's.

This sounds worth seeing. Strange, but I never actually thought of seeing documentaries. Thought there were for TV only *lol* I have to see this one, seriously.
